Bruce Woodley

Woodley, Bruce 3/25/1947 - 3/12/2023 Northport, Florida Bruce Robert Woodley, 75 ,of Northport, Fl passed away peacefully on March 12,2023, surrounded by his children. Bruce was born on March 25th , 1947 in Elbridge, Michigan. He graduated from Hart High school and received his B.S. in Political Science and History from Western Michigan University. He later would receive his M.A. in International Education from Lesley College . Bruce was a teacher and coach for the Kalamazoo Public Schools for over twenty years. He also taught internationally at the American School of Brasilia, Brasilia, Brazil; Lincoln American School, Buenos Aires, Argentina ; and spent the last ten years of his career teaching and coaching at the American School of Doha, Doha,Qatar. Bruce was a beloved teacher, coach, mentor and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo Louis and Marjorie Ellen (Grate) Woodley. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Woodley; son, William (Sylvia) Woodley; four granddaughters, Laila Griffin, Giuseppina, Rita, Francesca Woodley ; brother, Leo Woodley; sister, Betty Sue (John) Carnes. Memorial and Celebration of Life Service July 1, 2023 11:00 am Hart Congregational United Church of Christ In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to charities that were important to Bruce, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Bruce was a devoted father, grandfather , brother and friend. He loved his granddaughters, cooking, gardening, basketball and books on history. He was kind by nature and remains loved by his family and friends around the globe, who will always remember his humor and stories
