Moe Tarpley, Brenda 2/21/1942 - 2/14/2023 Woodsboro, Maryland Brenda Moe Tarpley was born in Canton, Ohio, on February 21, 1942. Brenda's parents were Isabelle Marie Kunkle and Floyd George Stroup. Brenda graduated from Trenton High School in 1960 and went on to earn her education degree from Western Michigan University in 1965. She married Peter Tyler Moe on January 30, 1965. They resided in Kalamazoo, Michigan, for 40 plus years. After their first child, William Floyd was born, Brenda committed herself to raising her children. Patricia Ann, Kathleen Marie, and Matthew Lloyd followed. She was passionate about raising well-adjusted, happy, and productive children. After her own children grew up, she then joyfully helped care for her 11 grandchildren. Brenda settled in Frederick, Maryland in 2012. She was closer in vicinity to Kathleen's young children at this point, and she enjoyed the close-knit community that Frederick provided. After Dolly Flook masterminded a set up between Dr. Thomas Tarpley and Brenda, the rest became history. The two remarried on May 5, 2017. They enjoyed Brenda's large family and Tom's vast friend network and all melded together with minimal conflict. Brenda loved travel, good food & wine, and wonderful company. Even in the last year of life when her physical body became less able, she traveled extensively domestically and internationally. Following her marriage to Dr. Tom, she joined an energetic group of elegant ladies at Holly Hills Country Club for weekly Wednesday night cocktails and dinner. These are some of the best memories she created while in Frederick. Husbands were allowed at these gatherings occasionally, and sometimes, even encouraged to attend. Brenda was a member of several local charitable organizations, as well as the Fezziwig Society and The Union Bridge Lions Club. On February 14, 2023, Brenda passed peacefully in her home without pain with Tom at her side. Those who knew and loved Brenda lost part of their heart on this Valentine's Day, but they will hold close the fond memories created with this wonderful woman. A Memorial Service is planned for late spring. In Brenda's memory, "Take a Friend to Lunch"! Messages or memories may be placed on her "tribute wall" at www.hartzlerfuneralhome.com.
