Brad Lentz, 64, passed away unexpectedly in Newaygo, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Lentz, and brother Jeff. He is survived by his mother, Gloria Lentz of Kalamazoo, Michigan; brother Greg(Liz) of Saugatuck, Michigan; and children Colton Lentz and Adele Lentz of Grand Rapids, Michigan and several nephews and nieces.

Brad graduated from Portage Northern High School and Albion College was captain of the tennis teams, and won the MIAA doubles championship. He majored in Economics & Management and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.

He loved playing and watching all sports. Brad was an accomplished slalom water skier and downhill skier traveling throughout the country to do so. He enjoyed these sports, traveling and time at the lake with his family.

Brad was an avid conservationist and as a hunter had a great appreciation for sharing his venison and fish he caught.

Following in his father's footsteps -autos were an important part of his life. He owned five Lentz Automotive shops throughout West Michigan. He enjoyed listening to his customers stories and sharing his own.

From his trucks and moonlighting as a snowplow man to enjoying the country roads in his 1936 Chevy Master Coupe or his Hellcat he was always ready to talk automobiles.

As a small business owner, Brad enjoyed connecting with the local communities. He was an AMBUCS member, an annual highlight was leading the Springfest Fundraiser for many years and a generous donator and avid fundraiser for many worthy causes.

Brad enjoyed providing for his family, loved his kids and traveling abroad so they could learn about other communities and cultures.

Brad had many wonderful friends and dedicated employees who he treasured.

Always ready for a good time, carrying a contagious smile, he was a generous person, a fast friend to many and will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Schmohz at 2600 Patterson SE on September 27 from 12:30-4PM.
