Bonnie Sokolowski, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 89 passed away on June 9, 2025, at Provision Living Kalamazoo. Bonnie was born November 7, 1935, in Decatur, MI to the late Kenneth and Bonnie (Neidlinger) Nicholson.

She was united in marriage on May 29, 1954, to Leonard Sokolowski, her high school sweetheart. Bonnie was a 1953 graduate of Mattawan Schools. Bonnie grew up in Mattawan and spent her married life with Leonard on Crooked Lake, Texas Township. Bonnie worked at Mattawan Schools until 1989 where she was the attendance clerk making fond memories with many students and not so fond memories for those that skipped school.

Bonnie laughed easily and enjoyed her life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home throughout the US and looked forward to heading to Frostproof Florida each year to reunite with her snowbird friends.

Bonnie is survived by her?loving husband of 71 years, Leonard; children, Wendy (Scott) Hamming, Tracie (Jeff) Wolthuis, Mike (Jackie) Sokolowski, Al (Tammy) Sokolowski; grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Gibson, Danelle (Cam) Drake, Katie (Phil) Doorlag, Jolie (Kevin) Sportel, Brett (Stephanie) Sokolowski, Travis (Caralee) Sokolowski, Troy Sokolowski, Haleigh Sokolowski, Emily Sokolowski, Brandon Disher, and Nicholas Disher; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by two infant children, Richard M. and Susan D. Sokolowski, her brother and sister Roland Nicholson and Linda Winsdischmann.

In keeping with Bonnie's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 25 at Langeland Family Funeral Home 3926 S. 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Friends are invited to a short memorial ceremony beginning at 1 PM that is to be followed by an afternoon of food and fellowship until 3 PM.
