Bonnie Payton

Bonnie Lynn (Pratt) Payton passed away July 23, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Bonnie was born December 17, 1946 a daughter of the late Lawrence V. and Ester M. (Branch) Pratt. Bonnie retired in September 2013 as the Equalization Director Kalamazoo County. She was a past-president of the Mid-Michigan Association of Assessing Officers and also served on the board of the Michigan Equalization Directors Association. She had many hobbies which included working puzzles, knitting items for the residents at nursing homes as well as thrift store shopping. Bonnie is survived by her children, Christine (Todd) Brower, Raymond Kajkowski, Jr. and Garrett (Julie) Kajkowski; sisters, Pamela (Paul) Wilcox and Debra Millard; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Payton, 2 brothers and her faithful companion Joy. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 26th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where Bonnie's family will receive guests beginning at 2 p.m. and again after the service. Private graveside services will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
