Blair Welker

Blair Welker, age 84 of Kalamazoo, died October 14, 2019. He was born November 20 1934, in Kalamazoo, the son of Blaine and Adrianna (DeKoekkoek) Welker. Blair graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School before serving in the U.S. Army National Guard Reserves. He worked for Allen Electric before his career as an accountant at National Waterlift/Parker-Hannifin, from which he retired. Blair married Judith Peaslee on July 28, 1962. They loved to travel together and had camped in almost every state. They were former members of Parchment Second Christian Reformed Church and currently were members of Second Christian Reformed Church. Blair enjoyed volunteering at Second Impressions. His family includes his wife Judith Welker; his children: Michelle (Steven) Scott, Angie Welker, and Shawn (Leslie) Welker; his grandchildren: Alex, Veronica, Nicole, Anderson, and Lilli; and his brother Robert Welker and his sisters Betty Slack and Geraldine Loveland; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 17th, at Second Christian Reformed Church, 3015 Nichols Rd, Kalamazoo, with Pastor Fred DeYoung officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM at East Cooper Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to Second Christian Reformed Church, Second Impressions, or Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
