Steinagel, Withold "Bill" Portage Went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday evening, October 11, 2021 surrounded by family. Bill was born March 29, 1931 in Cieckowo, Poland the son of Wilhelm and Ottilie (Stutz) Steinagel. Bill landed in New York harbor on his 21st birthday; saw the Statue of Liberty and loved this country so much he decided to join the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Freda on May 5, 1956. Prior to his retirement at the age of 55, he was employed with General Motors for 35 years as a tool and die supervisor. Following his retirement from GM, together they established Steinagel Management Services which is still in operation today. Things that mattered most to Bill were taking care of those around him to the best of his ability. He was generous to a fault and always did his best to help a family member or his employees whenever he could. His generosity will be hard pressed to be surpassed by anyone. Family was always very important to him. He loved, with every fiber of his being, to be busy and productive. He always strove to provide for and leave behind a legacy of generosity. He attended Oakland Drive Christian Church with his family for 50+ years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, to places from Europe to Alaska, many trips to Hilton Head, Branson, Texas, Cancun and Florida. The last few years Bill and Freda wintered in Florida. They enjoyed being active with friends and attended Fort Lauderdale First Christian Church that was like their second family. Bill loved meeting new people and growing new friendships along the way. He was known for his tough exterior, but beneath was the softest heart. He survived World War 2 as a child and always wanted to make this world a better place for his family. Bill is survived by his wife Freda; children, Rodney (Dawn) Steinagel, Angela (Ken) Tester, Lori (Scott) Freund; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene and Eugenia and brother Vern. Friends may meet the family from 11:00am-1:00pm Saturday, October 30 at the Oakland Drive Christian Church, 7331 Oakland Drive, Portage, MI 49024 where services will be held at 1:00pm with a meal following. A memorial service and burial will be held in Williamstown, KY on November 6, 2021. Memorials may be directed to the Cleveland Clinic, Oakland Drive Christian Church, First Christian Church of Ft.
