Betty Provoost

Age 102, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023. Betty was born in Kalamazoo, on April 22, 1921, the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Meyler) Potts. On March 7, 1942 she married Howard Provoost, to whom she was married for 76 years and who preceded her in death in 2018. Betty loved attending flea markets and collecting antiques. She was well known for her china painting. She loved eating ice cream. Nothing was more important to her than her loving family who will miss her very much. Betty is survived by her daughters, Linda Bunch, Mary (Buck) Green, Cindy (Rock) Schabes and Kelli (Leo) Moyer; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Pacukewicz; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Besides her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Mark; a brother, Bernie (Erlene) Potts; brother-in-law "Skeeter" Pacukewicz. A funeral service for Betty will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. noon at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Betty will be laid to rest next to Howard at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
