Nuyen, Betty Lou Betty Lou Nuyen, age 86, of Kalamazoo passed away August 4, 2022 at her home. She was born January 22, 1936 in Kalamazoo to the late Spencer "Jack" and Flora (Carlon) Bixler. Betty's joy in life came from raising her four children, as well as spending time with her grandkids and great-grandchildrenshe was the glue of her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and knitting and was known to be a great baker with a great sense of humor. She also loved trips to the lake. Betty was a longtime member of Victory Baptist Churchher relationship with God was very important to her. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, William D. Nuyen; two infant sons; and siblings, Harriet Bixler, Jack Bixler, and Theodore Bixler. She is survived by her children, Vicki Nuyen, Cindi (Lou) Craighead, Terri Nuyen, and Ted (Shelly) Nuyen; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as a niece and a nephew. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10 from 6-8:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 11 at 11:00am at Victory Baptist Church, 308 W Milham Ave, Portage, MI 49024. Burial will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 2:00pm, 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012. For those planning to attend, please arrive by 1:50pm.
