Bernard (Bernie) Wrona

WRONA - Mr. Bernard (Bernie) Wrona, aged 88, of Grand Rapids has completed his earthy walk and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Della; children, Mark (Donna) Wrona, Larry Wrona, Mary (Tony) Preston, Fran (Mark) Allen; grandchildren, Bernie (Anne) Allen, Michael (Nichole) Wrona, Mark Allen, Dr. Andrea Preston, Rob (Bethany) Wrona, Emily (Nick) McMillan, Katie Allen, Chris Wrona, Nick Preston; three great-grandchildren; brother, Ray (Mary) Wrona; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bernie grew up the son of Polish immigrants and proud of his heritage. He attended St Isidore's School and Catholic Central High School before attending Davis Technical, Kendall School of Design and Wayne State University. He was a WWII Veteran in the Navy. His professional career was educational furniture design and sales for the E & H Sheldon Company in Muskegon. In his later years he had a passion for the outdoors, fishing, wood carving, and dancing with the love of his life, Della. Bernie will always be remembered as a humble, faithful servant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 2275 Diamond Ave NE, with Rev George Darling as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Rest Haven for the loving care gaven to Bernie.
