Adrianson, Barbara 1/2/1937 - 5/20/2021 Barbara Jean (Harper) Adrianson was born on January 2, 1937 at William Crisp Hospital in Plainwell, Michigan and passed away on May 20, 2021 at the Wings of Hope Hospice Home in Allegan, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell Harper Sr. and Goldie (Hoyt) Harper, and her brother Russell Harper Jr. She grew up on the family farm helping her dad whenever needed in the fields. She was a member of the North Otsego 4H Club for several years. This is where she learned many things, including her lifetime hobby of knitting. Barbara went to country school through the eighth grade. When she was eight she started taking piano lessons and played for all the programs in the one room school. Her teacher was not as good a piano player as Barbara. In the seventh grade she went to Otsego Public School where she played the piano and organ for many different events while in school. Barbara graduated from Otsego High School in 1955. In the fall of the same year she went to County Normal to become a teacher. In the fall of 1956, Barb started teaching in the Allegan County one room schools. She taught in three different schools until the spring of 1962. Barbara met Jerry Adrianson at Smitty's City Service in Otsego. Their first date was on July 4, 1961 and they have been together ever since. They were married on October 31, 1961. She was a housewife and mother to their four children and was an active member of her community. She was a Cub Scout leader, a Girl Scout leader and helped on many occasions with her daughter's Campfire group. She was a school room mother, a Sunday School teacher, gave piano, knitting and crocheting lessons in her home. For several years she played the piano and organ for Sunday School and church services and for many weddings. She loved to go camping, go to tractor shows, flea markets and garage sales, read, work in her flower garden and do word searches. In 1974, Barbara became a part time cleaner for the Barry County Telephone Company offices, where she worked for 28 years. In later years, she began to clean for the post office, starting with one office and working up to four offices. For two years she cleaned the post offices by herself, and for ten years Jerry and Barbara cleaned together until their retirement. In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her children: Alan (Michele) Adrianson, David (Marjorie) Adrianson, Wendy (Toribio) Estrada, Suzanna (Zachary) Mohney; five grandchildren: Juan, Nicholas, and Marcelino Estrada, Kyle and Nathaniel Adrianson.
