Age 91, passed away on October 9, 2021, at home in Kalamazoo after a brief illness brought on by kidney failure. Art was born September 19,1930 to Arnold and Dorothy (Stenman) Goff in Reed City. At the age of 5, the family moved to Lansing and by the age of 11 Art was working as a golf caddy at the City Country Club. This allowed him to play golf once a week for free and thus began his passion of a game that he not only loved, he excelled. He carried a single digit handicap and at the age of 87 he won his clubs championship, winning over 68 other players all younger than himself. Art graduated from Sexton High with honors in 1948 and worked as a full-time house painter to pay for his education while attending Michigan State University graduating in 1954. He then began working for Michigan Bell where he had an outstanding career with many important responsibilities in various positions and locations throughout the company. Art was working in the Lansing area when he retired as a District Manager in 1988. Now, the real fun begins! Art and his wife Saundra moved to Naples, Florida where he enjoyed boating and golfing. This was their home for the next 23 years before returning back to Michigan to be closer to family. Art was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Karen, his son Jeff, and his brother Ken. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Saundra Lamb Goff, his children Kraig Goff of Tacoma, Washington, Nancy Dolley of Plainwell, Susan Smith of Ann Arbor, Joanne Goff of Mason, and stepchildren Ryan Ray and Jeff Mann of South Haven, Michelle Mann of Naples, Florida, and Wendy Muncey of Okemos. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Plans are pending for a Celebration of His Life. In his memory contributions may be made to Hospice or the charity of your choice.
