Arthur M. Kidney (Art) 79 years old, passed away at Bronson Hospital, November 22, 2023 of complications from a fall.

Art was born in Plainwell, MI, son of Albert R. and Vivian L. (Doxey) of Wayland, MI. On November 5, 1994 he was united in Marriage to Andrea Jean DeHoff Sherfield, who survives.

Art retired from PNC Bank after 37 years in bank security and property management. He then worked for Hospice of SW Michigan part time for 5 years. Art served on various boards including Sterling Oaks Condominium Association and various church boards. He volunteered at Lending Hands of Michigan, was involved in the start up of Twelve Baskets Food Pantry and recently a driver for Meals on Wheels.

Art was an avid golfer for many years but a hole-in-one eluded him. League members used to say "chip like Art" as he had a knack for a beautiful chip shot.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, a beloved son, Steven in July, 2005, a step-son Brian Sherfield in 2002 and a brother-in-law, Steven DeHoff in 2018. He leaves his loving wife and soul mate, Andrea, daughter Laura (Jeff) Burns, brother Ronald (Miriam), sister Alice, daughter-in-law Lyn (Bill) Benn, step-son Eric Sherfield, 5 grandchildren, one great grandchild, a niece, nephew, many extended family members and wonderful friends; including Dave Weesies, his golf partner for over 25 years.

Cremation has been completed. Visitation will be December 7, 2023 at 10:00 am at Connections Community Church, 11500 US 131 and U Avenue, Schoolcraft, MI with a memorial service at 11:00 am with Pastor Dave Sanders officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Connections Community Church designated for Legacy Fund. Art was a quiet, kind, gentle man who always did the right thing no matter the situation or outcome. He was a good balance for his wife and family. He accepted his Lord and Savior completely after marrying Andrea and he found a church home at Connections. He is and will be sorely missed.

Sincere gratitude to the NCCU staff at Bronson Kalamazoo for the care and compassion treating Art; especially to the Trauma Team, Neuro Team, Respiratory Team and the nursing staff.
