April Kesterson

April Jeanne Kesterson, age 85, of Kalamazoo, died on Friday, July 24, 2009 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. She was born on April 2, 1924 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Roy and Hazelle Adams. On June 25, 1945, April was united in marriage with Edward Kesterson, who survives. She was employed in the food service industry for many years, retiring in 1984. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Steven (Ingrid) of Colonial Beach, VA and Jak of Austin, TX; a grandson, Ryan Kesterson Paine of Denver, CO; a sister, Saundra Nie of Portage; a brother, Tom (June) Goodman of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law Clara (Doug) Paine; and a special niece, Sharyn Schlueter. In addition to her parents, her sister, Mavis Briggs and an infant grandson, Jason Adams, preceded her in death. A private graveside burial will occur at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
