Mrs. Ann Yvonne Lehto (Hetrick) of Paw Paw, Michigan was born November 12th, 1936, in McMillan, Michigan, the daughter of Denzil and Margaret Hetrick. Ann passed away peacefully at home on October 31st, 2021. She married Donald Eugene Lehto on November 23, 1953, her loving husband of 55 years, who proceeded her in death in 2009. Ann was a very proud and generous mother, grandmother and great grandmother (more lovingly referred to as Nana) of her four daughters, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, which include, children: Debra Adams, Susan Fuller-Sutherland,(Harry) Vickie Soter (deceased) and Jaime Lehto(Mike Fraser) ; grandchildren: Damien Fuller-Sutherland, Katharine Selvidge(Kyle), Adam Zemke(Kelly), Lindsay Soter, Maya David(Dustin), Jillian Soter, Cameron Wooley, and Tate Fraser; great-grandchildren: Izabella Carl, Dylan Selvidge and Sofia David. She had many jobs over the course of her life, including working in the family greenhouses, as a nurse at the State Hospital, and as a rural carrier at the United States Postal Service, where she retired from in 2012, after a long career. Never one to sit still, she volunteered at Hospice of Southwest Michigan in retirement. Ann enjoyed gardening, keeping a clean and tidy home, knitting, reading romance novels, talking endlessly on the telephone or visiting/spending time with family and friends, always waiting to hear the latest gossip or bit of news. She was never afraid to give her opinion and showcase her honesty with spunk and gusto. She also enjoyed spending time with her flock of chickens and ducks. She was an extraordinarily generous and giving person who went out of her way to help others; even at times when it required sacrifice on her part. She set a great example for everyone around her. A celebration of life is planned for December 12 at the Bloomingdale Conservation Club from 2-4 pm.
