Obituary
Angeline E. Wittrock, 106, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away on April 17, 2025, at Hawthorn Landing.
Born on February 20, 1919, in Gilman, Minnesota, Angie was the second of six children of Frank and Susan (Kipka) Bozych. After working as a waitress in Foley and St. Cloud, Minnesota, she was married to Clement "Clem" Wittrock, who worked on the gas station side of the restaurant. Clem and Angie were married for nearly 65 years until his passing in 2004.
Angie, sustained by her deep Catholic faith, was known for her talent in the kitchen-an avid cook and baker who enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables. She was equally skilled with her hands, excelling in crocheting, knitting, and sewing.
At age 90, Angie moved to the Heritage Community in Kalamazoo, where she embraced her new chapter with a love of reading, playing dominoes and bingo, and staying active in community events and activities including volleyball and exercise class.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Boss, of Portage, Michigan and Nancy (Jon) Johnson of Sidney, Iowa; grandchildren Michael (Lori) Pryson, Rosemarie Butler, Gregory Johnson, Douglas (Kristen) Johnson, Jeffrey (Laura) Johnson, Bradley (Kandra) Johnson, Pamela (Gregory) Moore, Andrew (Amber) Johnson, and Peter (Emily) Johnson; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clem, her parents Frank and Susan Kipka, siblings Irene Schyma, Gusty Rothanberg, Clara Gohl, Lorraine Broda, Herb Bozych, Robert Boss, and grandson Timothy Pryson.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church., 936 Lake St., Kalamazoo, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Michael Hazard presiding. Burial will take place afterward at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
