Angeline L. Domke (Angie) or in Dutch "Anja", 90, passed away September 13, 2023 surrounded by family in her "all shades of blue" home. She was born February 15, 1933 in Allegan, MI to Gertrude and Samuel Werkhoven, both from Friesland, The Netherlands. She grew up in Wyoming, MI with her family in the dairy and hardware businesses. She met the love of her life and best friend, Paul, while working in payroll at GM in Grand Rapids and recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. They lived in Mansfield OH and Portage MI while traveling for Paul's career. Angie continued her management skills helping Paul with his rental and warehousing businesses as well as being an Avon Lady and a receptionist at Portage Community Outreach Center. Angie was an old fashion girl, fiercely independent and determined, while at the same time kind and forever honest. She strongly maintained her faith in God acquired at an early age from The United Brethren Church.

Angie's love and talent for music started in her teenage years, playing the saxophone at Wyoming High School and joining a Jazz Band. Music was always playing in her home with ABBA and BREAD being some of her favorites. Her passion for her dogs Cinder, Shadow, Stuart, Joey and cat Bootsie was renown. She could be seen daily walking her dog in her Blue Keds.

Angie encouraged people to strive and follow their passions. She was always available to listen and support her daughters, grandsons, and friends. She hosted the most wonderful Christmas and Walloon Lake celebrations. Angie's love and loyalty to her family and friends was beyond measure.

As an avid reader and traveler with an insatiable curiosity, Angie inspired her daughters and grandsons to be adventurers and travel the world. Angie and Paul traveled the world enjoying each other and new cultures. Friesland, Norway and New Zealand were a few of their favorites.

She was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Rena and Clarence (Bud). She is survived by her husband H. Paul, daughters, Tanya BeGole (Brett), Dawn Pumford (Matt), grandsons Andrew and Sean Pumford, her nephews Jim Reyers (Shelley), Dan Reyers (Peggy), Bob Werkhoven (Lori), David Werkhoven. niece Karen Klein (Gary) and her Corgi/terrier, Joey, who will have a tennis ball waiting in heaven.

A Celebration of Angie's Life will begin at 12:00pm on Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Kalamazoo Country Club.
