Alwina "Korkie" Williams

Alwina Corrine Williams (Korkie), 90, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on February 2, 1930 in Kalamazoo, MI to Charles and Alwina Williams. Her favorite pastimes were bowling, gardening, playing cards and being with family. She coordinated the Williams Woodford Family Reunion at Eagle Lake for 40 years. Korkie retired as Deputy Postmaster from Gary, IN in the 1990's. She volunteered at Bronson Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw for 27 years. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothe Lewis (CT) and Elaine Overstreet (CA); her "adopted daughter" Carrol T. Blair (MI), and her beloved poodle, Lexi (MI). Korkie was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles F. Williams, Jr. and Homer L. Wiliams, M.D.; one sister, Sylvia Pettiford; life-long friend Barbara J. Johnson and her pets Tippi and Mysti. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2020 at Whitley Funeral Home in Kalamazoo, MI from 5 - 8 pm. Private service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2020. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Humane Society of the United States and St. Jospeh's Indian School.
