Alvera Fredericks

Fredericks, Alvera I. Kalamazoo Alvera Isabell Fredericks (Hadaway) passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at the age of 75. She was born in South Pittsburg, Tennessee in 1944 to the late William Hadaway and Hazel Waldon. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central Highschool. Later in life, she retired from the custodial department of Western Michigan University. Alvera loved being outdoors whether she was walking trails, gardening, playing catch with her sons and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching movies with her family. Alvera was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Fredericks; brother, Charles Hadaway; sister, Gracie Cornell; and grandson, Kyle Manion. She is survived by her sons: John Fredericks II and wife Amberley, Thomas Manion and wife Mary-Beth and Samuel Manion Jr; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Nancy Barnett, Rosemary Richards, Linda Hadaway and brothers: Joe Hadaway, David Hadaway, and Jerry Hadaway. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date. Inurnment will be at Almena Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Alvera to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
