Allen Snyder

Age 72, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Iris Snyder, and twin brother, Eldon Snyder. He is survived by wife, Francie Porter Snyder; children Matt Snyder, and Colleen (Jason) Malocha; step-children Jeremy (Noreen) Porter, and Kristen (Greg Lynas) Porter; grandchildren Tyler Snyder, Ella Lynas, Corinne Malocha, and Grant Malocha; sister, Joelyn Rich; sister-in-law, Cynthia McDonald Snyder; former wife, Diane Snyder; and many nieces and friends. Allen was an Army ROTC graduate, and a Vietnam Era veteran serving as a 1st Lieutenant. He grew up in Alpena, Michigan and went on to graduate from Western Michigan University with a master's degree in Human Resources and Communication. He enjoyed his career as a salesman and, when he was not working, you could find him enjoying either the Detroit Tigers or a round of golf. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 pm on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St., SW, Grandville, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building) in Grandville, with visitation from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to service.
