Alice Ferris

Alice Ibolya Ferris, 66, of Mattawan, passed away Monday September 28, 2020 at University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. She was born April 6, 1954 in Vlaardingen, Netherlands, the daughter of Martin Smith and Eszter Smith. Alice graduated from Western Michigan University with her Bachelor's Degree in Art and furthered her education by earning her Master's degree from Central Michigan College. Alice was a creative soul, sharing her artistic talents with the world by creating many beautiful oil paintings and unique craft pieces throughout the years. Most of all, she was a selfless woman who always put the needs of others before her own. She was dedicated to her husband and children and always made sure they were taken care of first and foremost. Alice is survived by her husband, William Ferris Jr, two sons, Will (Melissa) Ferris III and Eric (Alexandra) Ferris; three brothers, Dr. Harry (Diane) Smith, Martin L. (Debbie) Smith and Jake Smith; four sisters, Mary (Ray) Larrabee-Popp, Esther (Art) Wurfel, Jolly (Late Robert) Tenant and Lonnie (Late Stephen) Lamie. Alice was preceded in death by her brother, John Smith. Private services were held for Alice.
