Alex Wallace

Alex Shawn Wallace, 62, resident of Kalamazoo, MI, passed away Friday, April 6th from cancer. Alex was born in Muskegon, graduated from high school there and went on to travel the US before attending graphic arts school in Chicago. He was a welder and a builder before he became a flooring warehouse manager. He was an active and valued volunteer in his neighborhood and always willing to help a friend or neighbor. Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Joanna, his stepfather, James Wawrzyniak, his father, Jack Wallace and his brother Joe Wawrzyniak. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Wallace, his children, Dan, Miranda, Cory and Cody Wallace, his grandchildren, William, Parker and brothers Jerry (Jan) Wawrzyniak, Guy (Charlotte) Weersing. Sisters Cathy (Tyler) Grover, Denise Brumm, Cleda (Lou) Schaub, JoAnna (Tom) McIntosh. Alex's Celebration of Life will be held on April 4th, 2020 at the Oakwood Neighborhood Community Center at 3320 Laird St beginning at 4pm. Alex had a razor wit and a huge heart. He volunteered in his Oakwood Neighborhood and with the nonprofit organisation, Building Blocks. He was a true friend, loved his dog, Suki and his cat, Chong.
