Albert Lappin

Lappin, Albert W. Kalamazoo, MI Al passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at his home in Alamo Township. He was born June 13, 1935 in Kalamazoo, the son of Willis and Florence (Black) Lappin. Al owned and operated an asphalt paving company until his retirement in 2000. On July 2, 1954 at Oshtemo Methodist Church he married Alice Briggs. Together they enjoyed wintering in Florida for 43 years. For 8 years they lived on Pine Island, Florida before returning to the area in 2012. Al had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed fishing. He was a hard worker and was never one to sit still. Al was a member of the First Congregational Church of Otsego and the Kalamazoo County Fair Board. Surviving are his wife; children, Deborah Lappin, Candace (Mark) Stevens and Dawn (Bob) Nyberg; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and siblings, Dorla (Jim) Duncan, Donna Heighton and Ivan (Jasna) Lappin. He was preceded in death by his 2 sons and a great-granddaughter. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A walk through visitation will be held from 4-6:30 PM, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the First Congregational Church of Otsego. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
