Roger Bruce Clausen, age 73, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 21, 2015. He was comforted by his good friends, Bill and Dena Giller, at the time of his passing.

Roger is survived by his brother, Kenneth Clausen; sister-in-law, Marjorie Clausen; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 31, 1941. He was the fourth child of Simon and Agnita Clausen and brother to Warren, Muriel, and Kenneth. Roger grew up in White Bear Lake, MN. He moved to California and lived there for several years before moving to Michigan. Roger was an engineer for the Howard Miller Clock company for many years, later changing careers to become an engineer for Whirlpool, where he was responsible for the patent of the agitator in washing machines. Roger was a bachelor, and he lived life for all of its worth. He was an avid motorcycle rider and loved to travel, camp, and hunt. He made several trips to Africa and brought home many trophies of wild game. Roger was a good, kind, and generous man. He was well-read and enjoyed intellectual conversations solving the world’s problems. Roger had numerous friends with whom he loved spending time and was known for his larger than life parties that were open to all.

Funeral service Wednesday, April 1, at 2:00 pm at Community Church of Douglas; 6780 Wiley Road. Visitation one hour prior to service.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Hospice of Holland.
