Louise Ann (Lou) Bishop died on April 13, 2024. She was born July 31, 1935 in Logansport, Indiana to Florence (Harlan) Bauer and John Bauer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John.

After graduating Logansport High School in 1953, Lou studied at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for three years leaving in 1956 to marry and work to support her husband's studies at Purdue University.

Bob and Lou had three children; Marc (Rose Bryan) Bishop, Kimberly (Ryan Barveld) Bishop and Lee (Karen) Bishop, grandchildren Robert H. (Karrie) Bishop and Ashley (Mike) Bundy and great grandchildren Logan Bishop, Madelyn Bishop and Rylee Bundy.

After raising three children to school age, she returned to school at Western Michigan University to complete her bachelor's and master's degrees in education and counseling. She later taught at St. Joseph’s School in Kalamazoo and Davenport College and West Ottawa High School in Holland.

She worked as a counselor at Community Education in Holland until she joined her husband in starting the A G Edwards Investments office in Holland in 1986. She was a founding member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Holland. She loved entertaining at impromptu get-togethers, she loved jigsaw puzzles and most importantly Bridge and was an avid Hope College basketball fan. She was an enthusiastic world traveler and was always ready for the next traveling adventure at a moment's notice. She loved Africa and visited the continent six times. She was a great mom, grandma and great - grandma.

As her wish, a private memorial mass will take place at a future date. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Church in Holland, Michigan or a medical memorial foundation of one’s choice.
