Kristen J. Visscher

Kristen J. (Cavanagh) Visscher, age 56, of Holland, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at home surrounded by family.

Kristen graduated from West Ottawa High School in Holland. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and then received her Master’s in Social Work from Michigan State University. She worked in the emergency department at Holland Hospital as a social worker for almost 20 years.

Kristen loved her family and her pets. She enjoyed traveling and took many adventures over the years, including a memorable study abroad to Italy during her master’s. She was proud of all her children for pursuing higher education and going to graduate school.

Kristen was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Cooper and father Charles Cooper.

Kristen is survived by her husband, Garry; daughters, Clare and Liz; son, Mike; brother, Jeff (Lori) Cavanagh; stepbrother, Robert (Carol) Cooper; stepsisters, Charlotte (Bud) Bower, Tammy Cooper and Sheila Cooper and many loving family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland. A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, April 26, at 11:00am, at Mulder Chapel. Reverend Kevin Kleinheksel officiating. Interment will be in Graafschap Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland.
