Jerry Wilson

Jerry Eugene Wilson, age 88, of Holland, MI passed away peacefully in his home on April 14, 2024, due to multiple serious, long-term illnesses.

His loving wife, Carol, and daughter, Janna, were by his side. Jerry was born to Aubrey and Belle (Dufur) Wilson on a very hot summer day, July 28, 1935, at the Hillsdale, MI hospital. Jerry grew up and spent the first part of his adult life in Hillsdale. Jerry graduated from Hillsdale High School for which he played many sports. Jerry was employed in inventory control, production control and shipping at various manufacturing companies in the Hillsdale and Western Michigan areas. Jerry enjoyed Lake Michigan and classic cars, especially the Corvette. Jerry had a very calm and gentle personality..

Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol, of 28 years; son Jeff (Donna) of Clearwater, FL; daughter, Janna Newell of South Haven, MI; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marilyn Wilson, of Hillsdale; brother-in-law, Gerald Jansen, of Hull, IA; and many nephews and nieces and their families.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Belle Wilson; sister and husband, Arlene and Dean Sanford; sister and husband, Betty and Joe Maurer; brother, Jim Wilson; and parent-in-laws, Gerrit and Ann Jansen.

A special Thank You to doctors, Dr. Eric Batts and Dr. Douglas Winstanley, and their staffs for the many years they provided medical care to Jerry.

Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday (April 18) at Harderwyk Ministries, 1627 W Lakewood Blvd., Holland, MI, with Rev. Bill Lindner officiating. Burial services will be 1pm Friday (April 19) in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale, MI. Family visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church.

Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Northwood Chapel.
