Liz passed on peacefully Sunday, July 21, 2019 at her home. She was born on May, 26, 1965 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Richard E. and Elida H. (Hall) Markle.

Liz was a vibrant woman who had a zest for life and a deep love for her family and friends. She had a larger than life personality, a tenacious spirit, and one of the biggest hearts. To know her was to know love, real conversation, laughter, and acceptance. Four years ago, Liz faced a nineteen hour surgery to replace her entire aorta, and she faced her health challenges with courage and bravery. Liz was a very supportive mother who attended all her children’s various activities such as Plainwell football games and choir concerts. She loved music and being outdoors with her family enjoying the sun and the lake.

On June 2, 2000, Liz was united in marriage to Frank Brand, who preceded her in death in 2017. Surviving are her parents and five children: Lindsay Ybarrondo of El Cajon, CA, Luke Markle of Plainwell, MI, Logan, Jason, and Nick Brand of Plainwell, MI; sisters: Linda Timmsen of Bakersfield, CA, and Kathy (Terry) Ryan of Kalamazoo, MI; brothers: Greg Markle of Oakley, CA, Rich (Lisa) Markle of Sanford, ME, Tony Markle of Kalamazoo, MI, Curt Markle of Paw Paw, MI, and Matt Markle of Decatur, MI; a multitude of adoring nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with Liz’s family from 7-9 pm on Thursday, July 25, at Encounter Church, 202 S. Sherwood Ave, Plainwell, MI. A service to celebrate Liz’s life will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 26, at Encounter Church with Pastor Dave Alderman officiating. A luncheon will follow the church service at Gun River East Clubhouse, 687 10th St, Plainwell, MI.
