Dan Denslow, 58, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.
His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 14, at Sacred Heart Church with Father David Jenuwine officiating. Law Enforcement honors will take place immediately following.
The family will receive friends at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior the service.

Dan was born October 5, 1950, in Edmore, the son of Jason and Glee (Mack) Denslow. He married Rosita Jenson June 27, 2009, in Harbor Beach.
A graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1968, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. He was aboard when it picked up the first astronauts that landed on the moon.
Dan had 34 years of distinguished service as Detective/Sergeant at the Isabella County Sheriff’s Department. In addition to his current duties as Det/Sgt., he also served as a Crisis Negotiator with the Isabella County Emergency Services Team, an Arson Investigator with the “Cause and Origin” team, represented the department on the Child and Family Enrichment Council, was an evidence technician, and also a forensic interviewer. He had also been a member of the department’s dive team and the Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team.
He was a life member of the Mt. Pleasant V.F.W. Post 3033, member and past president of the F.O.E. Aerie #4463, and a member of P.O.A.M. (Police Officer’s Association of Michigan).
Dan is survived by his wife, Rosita; three children, Jeremy (Angie) Denslow of Mt. Pleasant, Joel (Lori) Denslow of Weidman, and Carrie Denslow of Rosebush; step-children, Jaime (Jeff) Stegall of Mt. Pleasant, Kirsten (Steve) Frait of Milan, Krista (Dwayne) Malley of Oxford, Kim (Christopher) Clark of Warren; nine grandchildren; his father, Jason Denslow of Mt. Pleasant; and his sister, Joan (John) Maul of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Glee Denslow in 2004; and wife Kari Denslow in 2006.
