Taken from her loved ones much too soon, Christina Hall was a blessing to everyone she met. When she loved, she loved with her whole heart, and there was nothing she treasured more than being a mother to her four wonderful children. A friend of Christina’s was a friend for life, and she was the sort of person who would do whatever she could for the people in her life. A laid back woman, there was nothing that could ruffle her feathers, and she equally embraced both the peaks and the valleys along her life’s journey. Life will never be the same without Christina here, but she leaves behind a priceless collection of memories that her loved ones will forever hold near and dear to their hearts.

The 1980s were an exciting time in America. We were on the brink of the electronic age that transformed the way we lived our every day lives. Atari, Michael Jackson, and video cassette recorders became part of our culture while we watched E.T. phone home on the silver screen. The prime time lineup included shows like the Cosby Show, the Wonder Years, and Head of the Class, and Saturday morning cartoons entertained the nation’s youth until almost noon. It was just as this decade was dawning that a young couple named Jeff and Robin (Carlson) Guoin were pleased to announce the birth of the baby girl they named Christina Marie on January 12, 1980. She was one of four children and was joined by her siblings Brandon, Michael, and J.J.

In many ways, Christina was a young woman of her generation. She was born and raised in Redford, Michigan, but when she was in 7th grade she moved to Livonia with her family. Christina loved being with her family, riding her bike, and swimming. Someone who was genuine, fun-loving, and bubbly, she made friends with ease. Shortly after moving to Livonia, Christina became friends with Jaclyn and Karen, and they were friends for life. No matter what time or distance separated them, these three girls always remained close. Christina was a student at local schools and graduated from high school as a young woman.

The greatest joy in Christina’s life came from being surrounded by her loved ones. She was filled with unspeakable joy to welcome her four children, Kayln, Haven, Jonathan “Jon Jon,” and Jayden into her heart and life. It was easy to see that Christina’s kids were her world, and there was nothing that she wouldn't do for them as a mother. For the rest of her life, she forever viewed the day that each one of her children were born to be the best day of her life. It was so amazing how Christina was just like her mother and then how Christina’s daughter was just like she was. No matter what they were doing, she loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Going out to dinner and the movies as well as traveling were among her favorite things to do. Christina’s favorite television show was Teen Mom, her favorite movie was Mary Poppins, and she liked country music as well.

All who knew Christina Hall would agree that she was truly beautiful on the inside and out. She was kindhearted, thoughtful, and ever mindful of others with a desire to bring joy to all who were within her reach. A more loving and devoted mother would be hard to find as it was easy to see that she treasured her children more than life itself. Although she will be deeply missed, Christina will never be forgotten by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Christina Marie Hall died August 9, 2015. Christina’s family includes her children, Kayln, Haven, Jonathan, and Jayden; parents, the late Jeff Guoin (step-mother Terri) and Robin (Kris) Carlson; siblings, Brandon, Michael, and J.J. A Memorial Gathering will take place for family and friends on Thursday, 2-6 p.m. at our 30200 Five Mile location.
