Arlene Breitbarth

Arlene Harriet Cook Breitbarth, 87, of Kankakee, IL. passed away December 21, 2011 peacefully at her home. Arlene was born on May 3, 1924 to Arthur T. Cook and Clara Yeadicke-Cook. She married Vernon J. Breitbarth on May 24, 1943. Mrs. Breitbarth was a mother and homemaker.

She is survived by two sons and five daughters; Kevin Breithbarth and Dale (Sharon) Breitbarth both of Kankakee, IL., Marcia Halferty of Bremerton, WA, Denise Dodds of Clifton, IL., Carolyn Purnell, Karen Perkins, and Sandra Hunte all of Kankakee, IL. One brother and two sister-in-laws; Carl (Pricilla) Cook of Alexandria, VA, Ruth Cook of Jerseyville, IL. and Rella Cook of Aurora, IL. seventeen grandchildren; Brenda (Tim) Payne of Chebanse, IL., Rebecca (Daniel) Wainwright of Clifton, IL., Carl (Dawn) Halferty of Paulsbo, WA., Clifford (Melissa) Hunte III of Forsythe, IL., Brant Dodds and Kelly Romero of Clifton, IL., Brianne (Bryan) Ryan of Clifton, IL., Jeremy (Shelly) Purnell of Kankakee, IL., Mary (Anthony) Melvin of Kankakee, IL., Bobbie Sue Purnell of Limestone, IL., Melissa (Brian) Hood of Redondo Beach, CA., David (Krysten) Perkins of Bradley, IL., Stephan (Jamie) Perkins of Kankakee, IL., Jason (Carol) Breitbarth of Russellville, AK., Shawna (Felipe) Martinez of Russellville, AK., Cassandra Varela of Kankakee, IL., Kristopher Parks and Angela Perkins and twenty-six great grandchildren. Special friends Nancy Cole and Madonna Heeger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Children; Vernon J. Jr., Cheryl, Barbara, and Ronald. Grandchildren; Clara Boettcher and Stephanie Perkins. One sister and two brothers; Anita Kerschke, Paul Cook and Glenn Cook. One son-in-law; Steven Dodds.

A gathering time for family and friends will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 8:30A.M. until time of services at 11:00A.M. at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Kankakee, IL. where Pastor Sheets will officiate. Burial will take place following the service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Aroma Township, IL.
