Life Story / Obituary
Obituary for Cora Coash
Cora Coash , 73 passed away at her home on February 14, 2012. She was an LPN for 27 years working at Clifton Hospital, Shapiro Developmental Center, and Manor Care Nursing Home. She was born July 26, 1938 in Manteno, IL. the daughter of Luella Hopkins and Wilmot Conklin. Her husband, Manard Coash, whom she married August 11, 1956 preceded her in death June 5, 1988. She volunteered for HOSPICE and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting for others, especially making Magic Blankets that brought comfort and peace to those who were in need. She also enjoyed camping with her family. She will be remembered for her love of God, family and friends. She was a caring and compassionate nurse dedicated to her profession.
Surviving are her children: Ken [Mary] Coash of Rantoul, Ted [Gail] Coash of Bolivar, MO., Lori [Wayne] Parsons of Morocco, IN., Terri Anderson of Kentland, IN., Mitzi Coash [Roy Perkins] of Kankakee, IL., fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Rose Kammann and Joann [Jack] Jarvis of Kankakee, IL., Dolly Peterson of Martinton, IL., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Jack Conklin; and two grandchildren, Joseph Coash and Andrea Bennett.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home Kankakee Chapel. A Memorial Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial are for Hospice of Kankakee Valley
