Thelma B. Wilson, age 82, of Bradley, IL. passed away with family by her bedside on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. She was born on June 10, 1929 in Sophill, KY. the daughter of Noah and Minda Salyers. In August of 1948 she married Jay Wilson Sr. and moved to the Kankakee area. Jay Sr. preceded her in death on June 28, 1988. Thelma retired from Manteno State Hospital after many years of service. She attended River Valley Christian Fellowship, was an avid knitter often making booties and scarfs for gifts, and enjoyed crafts and crocheting.
Thelma is survived by her children Jay (Georgia) Wilson of Bradley, IL. and Janet Schuler of Kankakee, IL., grandchildren; Randy (Julie) Clay, Misty (Eric) Gaus, Kevin Wilson, Angela (Tom) Buikema, and Amy Schuler, and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A time of gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 4pm-8pm at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Bourbonnais Chapel.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10am at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Bourbonnais Chapel followed by an interment at Elmwood Cemetery in Manteno, IL.
Thelma will be dearly missed by all.
