Paul “Roger” Wisniewski, 58, of Posen died Wednesday February 1, 2012 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Roger was born May 8, 1953 in Alpena to John and Josephine (Kasubowski) Wisniewski and had been a life-long resident of the Posen area. He married Karen Marwede September 22, 1973 in Herron, MI. Shortly after attending high school, he worked at US Plywood in Gaylord for a brief time and then took over the family farm. He dedicated his life to farming, spending long hours doing his work which he truly loved. He would rarely leave the farm, saying he would rather be there on his John Deere tractor than anywhere else. Farming was his life’s mission and Roger did it with gusto and put his all into his work.
Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Karen, five children; Kimberly (Casey) Orr of Rogers City, Carrie (Joe) Zinke of Kingsley, MI, Glenn (fiancé – Andrea Daoust) Wisniewski of Alpena, Sara (fiancé – David Nowicki) Wisniewski of Posen, Nathan Wisniewski of Posen, three grandchildren; Dylan Orr, Luke Zinke and Benjamin Wisniewski. Also surviving are four sisters; Theresa “Tracy” Dziuba of Alpena, Polly (Larry) Anderson of Alpena, Connie (Larry) Henski of Vanderbilt, MI, Doris (Walter) Kozdron of Milan, MI, five brothers; David (Virginia) of Presque Isle, John (Marlene) of Alpena, James (Barbara) of Whitmore, Jerry (Florence) of Hillman and Norman (Patricia) of Rogers City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond.
Roger Wisniewski is at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena where family and friends will gather on Saturday February 4, 2012 from 2:00- 6:00 pm. The time of the service will be at 5:30 pm with Sister Mary Hughes officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
