My heart goes out to my special friend, Lynne, and her family. Lynne always held a place in my heart as we got to know each other well when we were in junior high together, then in high school. As a pimple faced teenager, I didn't feel like I was brimming with confidence but Lynne always treated me like I was someone important and special. Her sense of humor and good natured spirit brought smiles to many faces.
I was lucky enough to stay in touch with Lynne while I was at Michigan State and always looked forward to getting her letters telling me of her adventures in Tucson.
I regret hearing about Lynne's final days, too late to be able to attend her funeral service. However, she will remain one of my favorite people and favorite memories when times were simpler.
God bless you, Lynne.
Love, Steve

I was Lynn and Dylan's hairstylist for quite some time. I was there the last time she wanted to shave her head..she was smiling and all I wanted to do was cry. Her heart was so overwhelming, you almost felt inferior. I had never met someone so special! Telling her doctors they didn't know shit and she had GOD on her side was what mattered. I will only hope to be as strong as she was and still is.

I only had the pleasure of getting to know Lynne over the last six months of her life, but I was very impressed by her strength in fighting this disease. I was one of her drivers for treatment through the American Cancer Society and my father was also going through treatment for lung cancer at the same time. Lynne immediately added my father to her prayer list and sent him a card with a medal of the patron saint of cancer. I talked to her on the phone just a month before she died and she was still upbeat and optimistic.
I will be participating in the Michigan Breast Cancer 3-Day in August this year and dedicating it to Lynne. We walk 20 miles a day for three days to raise money for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. The net proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Koman for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. We need to find a cure for this disease.

I simply cannot think about my childhood without thinking about Lynne. She was such a significant person in my life, growing up in St.Johns.
I loved her and her family - having spent so much time with them all. I am very sad to receive news of her death today.
Upon reflection, I remember most her endless and spirited energy for everything she pursued. Having not seen her in more than ten years, she will remain forever young in my memories. My heart is full now-as I see the attached photos of my friend, Lynne. I will go to my neighborhood church tonight, here in NY City, to light a candle for Lynne. Veronica

Lynne and Dylan were my neighbors. Lynne was an inspiration. She never gave in to the dreadful disease! She always had so much love to give, to her son, to her mother, sisters and brothers, her friends. She will be so missed! I feel blessed to have known her and Dylan. Ted and I plan to see Dylan this summer often.

I knew Lynne mostly through what Mary Anne and Jean shared with me about her. I listened to their stories of Lynne's struggles and amazing courage throughout the 10 years she battled cancer. I met Lynne only once when she was visiting her sisters in California. It was obvious there was so much love between her and her sisters. My heart goes out to her Mom and all her brothers and sisters. You all have Lynne as an angel in heaven watching over you now. God bless Lynne, her son, and all her family.
Love, Diane

As a teacher you wonder where do they go, what do they do in life, what are they like as adults how do they contribute to society and those around them and the world. As I read about you becoming a nurse like mom, helping so many in different ways, becoming a teacher, keeping the faith and having a son you adore I guess answered so many of my questions and many more. Your mother taught me a lot and you and your brothers and sisters allowed me to be part of their growing years. What an inspiration you have been and will be forever.

Wow, we just ran into Lynne and Dylan at VanAtta's a month ago. I was so inspired by Lynee's optimism in her fight against this ugly disease. I remember many, many fun times growing up and playing in the neighborhood. From beauty pagaents at Sally Wesner's to baseball games in the alley to digging tunnels in the hospital snow piles...we did it all. Lynne was never afraid of anything or anyone. Now she is at peace in Heaven, watching over all of you. I am sorry that I will not be able to be at Lynne's funeral service, as I start teaching summer school on Monday. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Lynne, thanks for always having a smile and being able to see the beauty and the humor in this word. You did good! And you did well! Especially as you raised your wonderful, creative, courageous son, Dylan. Trite, but so true: you really have inspired us all to live better and to do better!
Yours,
Nancy

My dearest friend, you will be missed greatly! I will never forget meeting you for the first time in Mrs. Valentine's class when our sons started first grade together. Can't believe they are 16 now. It has been a fun ride in friendship ever since. I'll forever treasure our coffee shop talks; candid conversations on a wide range of topics; the wild laughter we shared; your sensationally sincere heart and your view of the world that placed new brilliant colors in mine. Thank you for being an an amazing inspiration by living a life filled with strength, courage, hope and love! You are now at peace and without pain living eternally with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Say "Hi" to my Dad for me. And one day in heaven we will meet again. In the meantime, the love and life you have poured into your son will impact many more lives. We know he will make you very proud. Dylan, your Mom as you know was an incredible gift to this world and lives she touched. She will always be near and dear in your heart as well as ours. We are better people for knowing your Mom. XOXOXO
