Conroy, Mildred L.

Mrs. Mildred L. Conroy, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 3, 2007. She was born in Stanton, MI on September 8, 1917 to John and Icie (Urton) Hankis and had been a resident of Muskegon since 1934. Mrs. Conroy was a member of the National Cosmetologist Association and was self-employed as a cosmetologist for 30 years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years. On May 22, 1933, she married Teddy R. Conroy and he preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by 2 daughters, Faye (Rodger) Grimm of Muskegon and Darlene (Charles) Monroe of Springfield, OH; 1 daughter-in-law, Sylvia Conroy Pecak of Montague; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by 1 son, Robert Conroy in 1972; 1 daughter, Betty Brown in 1980; 1 grandson, Teddy Conroy; 1 granddaughter, Debra Brown; 6 brothers and 1 sister. SERVICES will be 2PM Saturday at Evanston Ave. Baptist Church with Rev. Allan J. Engstrom and Rev. Roy Williamson officiating. VISITATION will be 6-8PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS in Mrs. Conroy's name may be made to Evanston Ave. Baptist Church.
