Wilma Ruth

Passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Meadow Woods of Bloomingdale. Wilma was born August 13, 1929 in Herrin, IL, the daughter of the late Richard and Bertha Hines and had resided in the Bloomingdale area for the majority of her adult life. Wilma was a wonderful wife and mother who loved to cook and bake for her family. She enjoyed traveling, especially spending time at her cabin up north and in Panama City Beach, FL. Wilma also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events. In more recent years, she was often seen around town traveling in her golf cart on errands or simply out visiting friends and family. Wilma had been an active member of the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church for many years and most recently a member of Journey Family Church. Her family and friends take comfort knowing that she is in a better place reunited with her family and savior in Heaven. Surviving are her 4 children, Bill (Carol) Houser of Allegan, Mike (Peggy) Houser of Fayetteville, TN, Denise (Dale) Durham of Penn Valley, CA, Wendy (Mike) Douglas of Bloomingdale; grandchildren, Bill Jr (Kelly), Brad (Monica), Rob, Scott, Patty (John), Charity, April, Travis, Samantha, Kristen, Michael (Briana), Brittany (Pablo), Matthew, Nathan; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard "Skeeter;" and a son, Bob Houser. The family will meet friends on Wednesday from 6 - 8 PM at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com, where funeral services will take place Thursday 11 AM. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bloomingdale Christian Fellowship.
