William Maury

Maury, William J. Kalamazoo, Michigan William J. Maury, age 84 of Kalamazoo, died at home under hospice care on August 24, 2022. He was born on July 1, 1938, in Kalamazoo, the son of Charles and Rose (Steele) Maury. Bill graduated from St. Augustine's in 1956 and in 1959 he married Nancy Mein, who preceded him in death in 1999. They had two children, Chantal Maury Shea and William J. Maury, II. After Nancy's death, Bill remarried Nancy Gooch, who passed away in 2005. In 2006, Bill remarried again! On February 2, Barbara Wahmhoff and Bill were married. Bill was a store manager for Town & Country Supermarkets from 1959 to 1985. He then opened his own store, Maury's Meat Market, on Romence Road in Portage, and ran that store until 1996. Bill is survived by his wife, Barbara Maury; his son, William (Laura) Maury, II; his daughter, Chantal Shea; his stepson, Jon Wahmhoff; his grandsons: William Maury, III and John Shea; his granddaughter, Jenna (Brandan) Campbell; his brothers: Richard Maury and Ted (Rose) Maury; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy; his second wife, Nancy; his parents and his brothers: Mike and Robert Maury. Friends may visit with his family on Sunday, September 4, 2022, from 5:00 8:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 S. 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
