William Jones

William (Bill/Bud) Jones was born in Kalamazoo, MI on September 9, 1945 and bravely faced cancer for several years until May 8, 2019 when he entered the glories of heaven to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon Lalone-Jones, 5 children, 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 sisters. He retired from Kalamazoo College Maintenance Department in 2002. Bill and Sharon were past members of Fourth Reformed Church, Oshtemo. Bill served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman followed by service in the Michigan National Guard. While in Viet Nam he received several Purple Hearts and was awarded the Silver Star Medal. He will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. The service will be officiated by his brother in law, Rev. Jim VanderRoest.
