Bussema, William "Bill" Kalamazoo Went to his heavenly home with the Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Bill was born August 23, 1930 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of Cornelius and Martha (Nap) Bussema. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and attended Texas Corners Bible Church. As a locksmith for 27 years, Bill owned and operated Bill's Lock Shop. He retired due to illness at which time his son and grandson took over the business. Bill enjoyed working on race cars. The first car was owned by Jim Martin. He eventually built and owned his own car which Tom Martin drove. In more recent years, his favorite moments were spent with his family, friends, and especially his 23 grandchildren. Surviving is Marlene Bussema, his wife of 67 years. Also surviving are 3 children, Connie Graham, Terry Bussema, Tracy Hageman-Andres, and son-in-law, Gregg Andres; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Carl Bussema, Brother- in-law, Don Paulsen, Sister-in-law, Dottie Schallhorn; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday, November 4th at Texas Corners Bible Church, 7780 S. 8th St., Kalamazoo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Texas Corners Bible Church. Please visit Bill's personalized webpage for online guestbook or to leave a condolence.
