William A. Naleid passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the age of 96. He was born in Racine on January 30, 1920 to Arthur C. and Lorette (nee: Cape) Naleid.

On January 17, 1942 he was united in marriage to Yolanda Pavia at the First Baptist Church in Racine.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War II from January 1942 to January 1946.

Bill was employed by Western Publishing Company for 36 years, retiring at the end of 1975 as Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration and a member of the Board of Directors.

Surviving is his beloved wife of almost 75 years, Yolanda, with whom he steadfastly raised three sons and a daughter; son, William M. (Judy -deceased) of Tyler, TX; son, Thomas (Tamara) of Avon Park, FL; daughter, Mary (Gary) Mazzie of Racine; and son, Richard (Barbara) of Colgate, WI.

Also surviving are 10 cherished grandchildren: Kimberly Naleid, Blake Naleid, and Brooke (Matt) Holtzman; Ted (Amy) Naleid and Mary (Matt) Robison; Michael (Mary Rose) Morse, Heather Morse and Sarah Mazzie; Trevor (fiancee Alicia) Naleid and Mitchell Naleid.

Bill is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren. Samuel, Luke and Micah Holtzman; Addy, Pete and Maggie Robison; Ivan and Hazel Naleid; Aaron, Catheriine, Matthew and Nathan Morse.

Bill was predeceased by his parents and brothers James, Jerome and Robert. We are twice blessed as Bill’s family. First, for a long and wonderful life with him, and second, for the memory of him. His wisdom, support, sense of humor and generous giving spirit to both community and family will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Private services will be held with the Reverend Holly Anderle of the First Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
