Willard was born September 28, 1923 at home in Kalamazoo, MI the son of Adrian and Anna (DeWitt) Kloosterman. Mary was born May 13, 1923 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Stone) Ray. Willard served in the United States Army during WWII. Willard and Mary were high school sweethearts and married December 20, 1945. They moved to Parchment MI and built their home in 1948 where they lived until they died. Willard retired from the former KVP Paper Company. Mary retired from Eckrich. Willard was actively involved with the former First Community Credit Union where he served on the credit committee and the board of directors. Mary was a 4H and Brownie leader. She was very artistic and creative and used her talents to make many beautiful teddy bears, dolls and quilts. She taught porcelain doll making, ceramics and sewing. The Kloostermans were preceded in death by their son Patrick. Surviving are their daughter Stephanie Bordeaux and son Jeffrey (Debbie) Kloosterman, four grandchildren, Matthew (DeeAnn) Gordon, Jason Kloosterman, Amy (Tim) Fry, Anthony Kloosterman, and three great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at the Kalamazoo VFW located at 562 Portage St., Kalamazoo, MI followed by a lunch. Interment at Fort Custer National Cemetery @ 2:30pm. Memorials may be made to City of Parchment Kindleberger Festival, 615 S. Riverview Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49004.
