Wendy DeBoer

With broken hearts, we are sad to announce Wendy Lee DeBoer, age 43, of Portage, MI passed away peacefully December 31, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center surrounded by her family. Wendy was born March 11, 1974 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Dennis F. and Ludella F. (Gregory) Witz. Before Wendy's stroke in 2008 nothing stopped her. She was full of life and adventure. She did anything and everything she wanted. Wendy was always strong-willed even after her stroke. She overcame so many hurdles and obstacles in the last 9 years. Unfortunately the progression of her stroke lead to other complications. She was dearly loved and will be missed. Wendy was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents. Surviving are her father Dennis Witz of Portage; her siblings Ben Witz of Altoona WI, Dawn Witz of Portage, Brian (Missy) Witz of Kalamazoo; her nephew Aaron Martindale of Portage and other family members. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Thursday, January 4th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., where a service to celebrate Wendy's life will be held at 11:00AM Friday, January 5th . Interment will follow in Portage Central Cemetery. Memorials in Wendy's memory may be directed to Borgess Stroke Fund c/o Borgess Foundation.
