Was born January 26, 1925 in the family home in Hartford. He was the son of Don and Delta (Rassette) Rose. Wayne passed away peacefully at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence on Wednesday June 27, 2018 with his two daughters by his side. On June 21, 1947, Wayne was united in marriage to Mary Groth and enjoyed each others company until Mary's passing on February 27, 2009. Wayne served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WW11. He was formerly employed at Covel Manufacturing, Burmeca in Belgium and then owned and operated Rose Machine Shop in Hartford for many years. In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed antique tractors and engines and traveling with his wife Mary. As the saying goes, if Wayne couldn't fix it, it couldn't be fixed. Wayne and Mary were one of the founders of the Hartford old engine and tractor club and when they were younger, were very active members. Wayne was preceded in passing by his wife Mary, and his only brother; Don Rose. Wayne is survived by two daughters; Judith (David) Rainey of Bangor, and Susan (Dave) Tapper of Hartford, four grandchildren; Amanda (Gabe) Malmstrom of Paw Paw, Jenny (Jason) Elston, Andrew Yirchott, and Adam (Allie Burris) Unrath all of Hartford and five great grandchildren; Alex and Helen Malmstrom, Madisyn, Luke and Olivia Elston. The family will welcome friends on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. A celebration of life service will take place at 11 A.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the funeral home. Pastor Scott Saylor of the New Day Church of Watervliet will officiate. Wayne will be laid to rest with full military rites by the North Berrien Military Rites Team in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Memorials may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
