Virginia Mock

Virginia Ann "Gini" Mock (DuBois), age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 20, 2017 at Hallmark Living in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born June 23, 1948 and lovingly raised and preceded in death by parents Margaret DuBois of Troy MI and Elting and Barbara DuBois of Sedona AZ. Also preceded in death by spouse Robert Dean; her twin brother Robert DuBois and brother James DuBois and grandson Zachary Neal. Gini is remembered as caring, loving and adventurous. In her youth, she was an avid swimmer and debutante from Birmingham MI and later graduated from Western Michigan University with an accounting degree. She loved spending time outdoors and with nature including many years spent living near Highland Park, Scott Lake and Baldwin MI where she enjoyed time with friends including the Gator Girls. In recent years she'd lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Shain and Shawna Mock, in Kalamazoo where she spent many happy times. She was a proud, devoted, loving mother to her surviving sons, Michael (Deborah) Northern of Plainwell, MI, Shain (Shawna) Mock of Kalamazoo, MI, Derek Mock of Baldwin, MI and Robert Dean of Kalamazoo, MI; grand-children, Amelia, Gabrielle and Mary Elaine Northern, Kaylee, Allen and Shantel Mock, Brandon, Bradley and Derek Mock Jr.; great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other extended relatives. Per Gini's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
