She was a Christian Education director and taught Sunday school. She would also come to be a director of a children's chime choir. Additional church activities included being a Stephen's minister, and her sending out cards to people was a big part of her life. In 1986, she founded and directed the Cereal City Ringers community handbell choir. They were well-known in the area and performed for many churches, local groups, conventions, and Christmas programs. At home, Ginny was an experienced gardener and winner of the Garden Council Award. She and Gene spent countless hours on their lawn and gardens. She was also a great cook and seamstress and made many matching dresses for her granddaughters. She had a weakness for Golden Retrievers and barn cats. She is being laid to rest with the ashes of her beloved Annie. In earlier years, she was a Cub Scout den mother and President of the Verona PTA. Ginny was united in marriage to Eugene Evandale "Gene" Hylton in Battle Creek on June 1, 1946.
