Age 54 Passed away Sunday morning May 20, 2018 at her residence. Virginia went to stay with her Lord and Savior after a short battle with cancer. Virginia passed in her sleep with her Loving husband Richard Max Haase by her side. She was born June 4, 1963 in Kalamazoo, Michigan the only child of William and Evelyn Friend who both preceded her in death along with her father-in-law, Max Richard Haase, Jr. Virginia grew up on the family farm on G Ave. She graduated from Gull Lake School System in 1981 and met her husband while they both worked at the Eastland Bowl. Virginia worked at Eastland for over 20 years, bartending and waitressing. Virginia and Richard were married in June of 2002. She truly started her career at an early age as a teller at First National Bank and Trust and rose quickly through the ranks to become a loan assistant at Mercantile Bank. She loved to ride horses and owned many of her own. Virginia taught her niece, Elaina how to ride Western. She was taking lessons herself to learn to ride English. He also had an eye for fashion and could pull together any outfit for any occasion to help out anyone that needed her. Virginia worked at Style Encore as a second relaxing job making friends of each and every customer she helped. She loved her jewelry collection that she loaned out to family and friends that asked or just needed that pick me up for the day. Virginia not only left behind her wonderful husband, Richard but also a lifelong friend, Yolanda DeHaan; many sisters-in-laws; brothers-in-laws; mother-in-law, Ruth S. Haase; and several nieces and nephews. They will all miss her deeply every day. Virginia had a contagious laugh and always a kind word to say with a great smile on her face. Everybody that met her loved her kindness, honesty, straight forwardness, and love for all. The world will not be as bright without her. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday, May 25th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday at the chapel.
