Virginia “Gina” H. Kozial, age 92, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017. Gina was born in Chicago, IL, August 3, 1924, daughter of the late John and Caroline (Nee: Pietryka) Zajac.

On October 26, 1946 at St. James Catholic Church in Chicago, IL she was united in marriage to Walter J. Kozial. She was a member of the Polish Alma Mater and an active volunteer with the U.S.O. during World War II. Gina loved polka dancing and more than anything she adored dancing polkas with her husband, since the age of fourteen. She will be fondly remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, grand friend and inspiration to all.

Survivors include her loving husband of seventy years, Walter; her children, Jill (Bill) Angel, Marilene Kozial, Larry (Pat) Kozial, Annette (Brian) Wishner, Rosemary Bush, David (Patty) Kozial; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Adele) Zajac; brother –in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley (Bunny) Kozial; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Florence (Rocky) Patronski; and brother, Edward (Dolly) Zajac.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017, 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Betty Brenneman officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 P.M.
