Vicky Lynn Verburg, was called home peacefully on July 7th, 2019. Surrounded by her family at the young age of 61. Vicky is survived by her parents, Datyon and Bonnie Davis; her husband, Mark Verburg; daughters, Jennifer (Trevor) Roorbach; Jenell (Pat) Sackett; brother, Terry (Natalie) Davis; and four grandchildren, Trent, Kameryn, and Eastyn Roorbach, and little Owen Sackett. Vicky was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 3, 1958. She was raised in Mattawan and later graduated from Mattawan High School in 1976. Shortly after graduation, she met the love of her life and best friend, Mark Verburg. Vicky and Mark were married for 41 years. They built their home nestled in the woods of the Verburg Farm in Mattawan. It was there where they raised their two beautiful daughters and shared countless loving memories with family and friends throughout the years. Vicky was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma! She had a loving personality and a heart of gold that made everyone around her feel loved no matter what. Anyone that met her was in stantly her friend. She had an open door for anyone that needed it, and a passion to care for others. Her amazing heart and passion to care for others is what led her to 35 year home business as a daycare provider. It wasn't just a daycare, it was a second home. Whentime allowed she loved taking yearly trips to Mackinaw with her daughters, grandkids, and her mom and dad. She also spent a great deal of time at their Baldwin property on Nugent Lake; a place of relaxation and an abundance of wildlife. At home is where she loved golf cart rides through the vineyards, pines and farm. The unforgettable impact that Vicky had on family, friends, will never be forgotten and her love and legacy will live on forever. Vicky's wish was to have a home celebration of life instead of a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Hope 4 Wildlife, 47070 24th Street Mattawan, MI 49071. The family is being assisted by the Avink Funeral Home & Cremation Society, 129 S. Grand, Schoolcraft, MI 49087 (269-679-5622).
