Vera Nowman

Vera M. Nowman, age 87, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Presence Our Lady of Victory Nursing Home in Bourbonnais, IL. Vera was born on January 16, 1926 in Kankakee, IL the daughter of Elmer and Ruby (Goodrich) Brassard. On March 27, 1943 she married Samuel W Nowman who precedes her in death. Vera enjoyed gardening but most of all enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Vera is survived by her children; Ace (Laura) Nowman of Florida, Lodeane Mitchell of Kentucky, Dorothy Nebergall of Arkansas, Sandra Smith of Bradley, IL, Edward (Mona) Nowman of Bourbonnais, IL, Tad (Marianne) of Bloomington, IL, Jane (Terry) Odette of Bradley, IL, Cindy Laxton of Arkansas, Donna (Terry) Ford of Florida, Chuck Nowman of Lincoln, IL, and Mary Ann (Buck) Moreland of Bradley, IL, 45 grandchildren, 75 plus great-grandchildren, 10 plus great-great grandchildren, a sister Rosemary (Gilbert Irps of Kankakee, IL and Iona Tedford of New Mexico, brothers Donald, Lawrence, and Richard Brassard, and a daughter-in-law Judy Nowman. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons Chester, Johnny, Mike, and Sam Nowman, and 5 grandchildren.

A time of gathering will place on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 10am until the time of services at 12noon at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Bourbonnais Chapel. Interment will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens.
